Chasing Victory
Legends only. All others need not apply.
Set in the small town of Vanquer, podunk West Texas nowhere, Texas State Tech is a desert jewel & sports powerhouse on an international stage.
Legends aren’t born here, they’re forged from the blood, sweat (especially in the TX heat) and tears of the Strikers’ most elite athletes.
…but it’s not like they’re Gladiators or soldiers on a battlefield. These are college students, with homework and girl problems, and issues with parents. Did someone say study hall?
Book 1 – Chasing Headlines (baseball)
Breslin Cooper chases redemption and the embers of his major league dreams vying for a spot on the TSTU Strikers baseball team. His nemesis, school reporter Liv Milline, becomes his (unlikely) ally…and fake girlfriend.
Book 2 – Breaking Headlines (baseball)
Breslin & Liv partner up in pursuit of their baseball dreams. A national championship would go a long way in helping Breslin compete for the IML draft status. Standing in his way is college baseball’s golden boy, ambidextrous pitcher Ry Hibara – and Chicago Centennial. But the real threat may just be Liv herself, and the one secret she still keeps…
Book 3 – Chasing Fire (hockey)
The youngest son of a hockey legend and figure skating champion, Wyn Paljevic’s talent on ice was virtually unmatched – until a nearly fatal car accident left him too injured to play during his HS senior year. As he tries to find his way back to the player he used to be, he’ll have to face what he’s been desperate to hide: not all of his scars are physical. And then there’s his unrequited crush on his teammate’s girlfriend . . .
Book 4 – Too Close to Fire (hockey)
Wyn, Michel, and Caden Seager chase the road to victory. Friends, sometimes rivals, but always teammates, they each have their stories – and each find their own lifelong love along the way. (could be multiple novellas, stay tuned)
Book 5 – Chasing Legacies (football)
Senior QB Beaux Seager seems to have it all, on the surface. But there’s one burr in his proverbial saddle: a missed requirement from his sophomore year. Without it, he won’t be able to keep the promise he made to his granddad. A Hail Mary pass gets him into night school at a nearby junior college his final semester. Used to being a “legend” on campus, surrounded by “the beautiful people”, his fellow students in the JC aren’t like him. Then he gets a real-world wakeup call from a single mom and her adorably precocious daughter.
Book 6 – Chasing Redemption (soccer)
Sender Van Sante had a simple choice when it came to college: he could attend his father’s alma mater and play left wing, like his dad. Or, he could attend Texas State Tech, his father’s alma mater . . . and play left wing, like his dad. Bitter with his father, and on icy terms with the rest of his family, Sender rebels the only way he knows how – threatening the team dynamics. A high ankle sprain during practice may cost Sender his season, and his team’s chance at a championship. But meeting Remi Martins, the no-nonsense physical trainer assigned to help him recover may be the chance of a lifetime.
Book 7 – Chasing Destiny (women’s soccer & esports)
The top esports athlete has a chance encounter with his niece’s soccer camp coach, sparking an insta-love attraction that was made just for summer. Having graduated, Shin’s off to the other side of the world to pursue his dream. Not ready to say “goodbye”, Leanna has a chance to see him again – if she can lead the Strikers to an international championship berth.
Welcome to Vanquer. Welcome to Texas. Welcome to Texas State Tech.
Where chasing victory and love is all about heart.
[A steamy collegiate sports series with witty banter / comedy, enemies to lovers, fake dating, and all the feels – spanning baseball, hockey, football, and soccer]
